There is no question that skilling into the Logistics Suit is better for Assault Players then the Assault Dropsuit.
Lets take a look at the stats. (For Caldari, the main suit people skill into, and best in my opinion)
Assault Proto:
PG: 60 kW CPU: 300 gF Shield: 210 HP Armor: 120 HP Shield Recharge Rate: 25 HP/s Shield Recharge Delay: 5 s Shield Depleted Recharge Delay: 8 s Armor Repair Rate: 0 HP/s Movement Speed: 5 m/s Sprint Speed: 7.0 m/s Sprint Duration: 15.0 s Stamina: 150.0 Stamina Recovery Rate: 15 /s
Grenade: 1 High Powered Module: 4 Equipment: 1 Low Powered Module: 3 Sidearm: 1
Logistics Proto:
PG: 78 kW] CPU: 390 gF Shield: 180 HP Armor: 90 HP Shield Recharge Rate: 20 HP/s Shield Recharge Delay: 4.0 s Shield Depleted Recharge Delay: 6.0 s Armor Repair Rate: 0 Movement Speed: 4.7 m/s Sprint Speed: 6.6 m/s Sprint Duration: 11.5 m/s Stamina: 115 Stamina Recovery Rate: 12 /s
Grenade: 1 High Powered Module: 5 Equipment: 3 Low Powered Module: 4 Sidearm:0
Logistics having and extra High Powered Slot and Low Powered Slot, along with 3 Equipment Slots is obviously the main advantage over the Assault Class. Though they have less base shield, they are able to have more shield and more armor than the Assault. Or, they can have the same Shield, With an extra ten percent damage added from a LDM. They have more PG and CPU then the Assault, so they can put their preferred modules on without having to ration PG/CPU. Logistics have a little less mobility, but it is not very noticeable. Logistics is the obvious choice for an assault player to go into, and that is proven by many of the top Assault Players skilling into the Logistics suit. There are some solutions for this, without hurting true Medics. Here are a few
1. Make a Repair Tool mandatory on the suit. This obviously will not hurt true medics, while taking up some of the PG/CPU that the Assault Players would need. Only doing this though will not make the Assault suit as good as the Logistics.
2. Take away the extra slots This is the easiest fix, seeing it is the most obvious reason Assaults go into Logistics. Personally, I would do this while making the repair tool mandatory, so Assaults grabbing a Logi Suit are dissuaded from doing so by less base shield, and PG/CPU wasted on a repair tool.
3. Make Logistics Slower and/or Bulkier. This isn't my favorite option, though it would probably do the trick. Proto Assaults would have an easier target while strafing and shooting them, while they themselves would be more elusive.
4. Extra Damage and Range for Assault Classes This by far is what I would do to even things out. Its perfect because it promotes it being an Assault Class, while not hurting logistics. It is the most appropriate bonus for suits that are made to run around and shoot people. A lot of good Medics will go 0/0 in the match, while being at the top of the leaderboard scoring the most war points. This doesn't affect them, seeing as even in the suit description it says "Only engaging the enemy when absolutely necessary". Also, it would for sure dissuade Assault Players for running around in the logistics suit, as damage and range are a big deal in this game.
Any thoughts about this, please post here. I'm just asking that if you are going to tell me that I'm an idiot, I would be fine if you explained why. Thanks |
